Fruit infused water is one of my favorite ways to hydrate!! Did you know that our bodies are approximately 60% water? Are you hydrating your body enough so that it can perform to it’s maximum ability? You’re probably like many people who have been trying to drink more water, but find that it’s hard because water is too boring! Well, we have a couple of tips and tricks up our sleeve to share with you to help with your water drinking efforts!! Check out our tips below!
A good rule of thumb with drinking water is to try and drink half of your body weight in ounces per day. So if you weigh 150 lbs. then you should be drinking 75 oz. of water per day. You also get water through fruits & vegetables as well as soups, etc.. So you can take off about 10 ounces or so for that. So it’s really not that hard to do as long as you follow these couple tips:
- Keep a water bottle by you at all times throughout the day! (I always like to buy a cute one to keep around because it somehow inspires me!) Click here to purchase our favorite fruit-infused water bottle by Define. A 15 year old boy invented it and it works amazing!! The strainer in the middle doesn’t allow for the fruit and herbs to get in the way while you’re drinking. I use the same fruit for a day or two while I refill it numerous times. It’s dishwasher safe & very easy to clean.
- If the flavor of water is too boring for you, simply add some fruit, citrus or herbs to it! (I love to add fresh or frozen berries, any citrus (orange, lemon & lime), cucumbers, mint, watermelon, etc.. The combinations are endless)
- If that still isn’t enough flavor for you, then add some lemon flavored stevia drops to sweeten it up naturally. It has zero calories and they’re super powerful. You really only need about 5 drops for approximately 20 ounces of water. You could also use a plain stevia drops as well. (Do not use Crystal Light or other zero calorie sweeteners because they are made with artificial/chemical sweeteners. Stay away from all of them, especially aspartame, Splenda, & sucralose which is the same as Splenda)
- When you add a lemon or lime slice to your water, you are actually alkalizing your water too so it’s not just for taste, it’s good for you too! It’s also very hydrating!
I hope you have been inspired today to drink more water!! It is so good for you and your body will thank you!
