Here is a list of our top kitchen tools for kids! We love having kids in the kitchen because there are so many skills to learn and as they become proficient, it’s a huge help in any home to have the kids help out mom and dad by cooking! We teach kid cooking classes locally in Utah and we love teaching them how to cook because unlike learning from their parents, they are very eager to be taught by someone else! Why is that? Why do kids listen to others better than they listen to their own parents? I don’t know about yours, but mine always do!!
So if you have an aspiring chef and want to pamper them with some of their own tools in the kitchen, here are some of our ideas! I think even having their own special knife makes them have ownership in the kitchen and gives them more of a desire to get in there and help. A cute apron is always fun, especially for the girls because it makes them feel like an official chef! So many fun ideas, but these are our favorites! They each have a link when you click on the picture if you’re interested in checking them out and purchasing them for a fun and unique gift that will pay you back for years to come!! 🙂

This is a fun kit for the little ones as well that gives them a great variety of their very own tools!
Another great basic is some cutting boards. These are our favorites because they bend easily which allows you to dump your ingredients right into a pot or bowl.
We always try to get kids to love salads, so making it fun by letting them spin the lettuce is always a fun trick!! Salad spinners are wonderful because your salad stays fresher so much longer when stored in these containers. Freshly cut salad also tastes so much better than pre-cut salads you buy in bags! Trust me on this one! It’s worth it!
This apron is an fun way to have essential information handy while cooking in the kitchen!
